BBQ Tempeh Recipe

Ingredients:
· 1 package original plain tempeh, cut into ½ inch strips
· 1 tbsp. Braggs liquid aminos or low sodium soy sauce,
· Sugar-free BBQ sauce (such as: G Hughes or Walden Farms)
Instructions:
Place tempeh in a large sauté pan; add Braggs or low sodium soy sauce and just enough water to barely cover the tempeh. Cover and simmer the tempeh until all the water is absorbed, about 30 minutes.* Place tempeh on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover well with BBQ sauce. Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes, until browned- turning once to ensure even cooking. Leftovers are delicious cold or rewarmed and served in a lettuce wrap with avocado and slaw.
*Tempeh can also be marinated in the BBQ sauce overnight before baking in the oven.
