What Happens During the Procedure?
During the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty, Dr. Doucette or Dr. Foreman will use an endoscope to assist and carry out the procedure. There will be a camera within a long flexible tube which provides a visual of inside the stomach. Using an endoscopic suturing device, the surgeon reduces the size of the stomach without removing any part of the stomach. The patient is able to feel full with less food, and may digest food more slowly, resulting in weight loss.
Post Procedural Care
Most patients resume normal activities and light exercise within one day after having the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty . After the procedure, patients will follow provided dietary guidelines and work closely with our registered dietitian to ensure ongoing success.
