At nearly 400lbs everything was a struggle from walking up stairs to playing with my nieces and nephews. I struggled with the physical demands of my job.

I went back and forth with my decision for over a decade. I would start the process then back out. Ultimately it was a dream vacation on a European cruise that pushed me to follow through with the surgery. The most amazing trip was hindered because of my weight and inability to keep up with the physicality of the trip. I finally realized I could not do it on my own, I needed this tool to help me save my life.

From the first conversation the team at Alabama Surgical has been a joy to work with. Dr. Doucette listened to me and my concerns and helped me make a well informed decision on what surgery I wanted and did not try to pressure me into one surgery over the other.

Since surgery I have gained the confidence in myself to shoot for the stars. I have taken a promotion at work, I have the confidence to go out to eat with friends, date, and start planning for children. I am able to fit in airplane seats and shop at regular stores. I can climb the stairs with no issue.
