I am almost two months out from my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy performed by Dr. Doucette, and already I’m down 61 pounds. That’s a little over 1/3 of the way to my total goal, but I just really wanted to share my progress story with you all! In the last two months, I have been able to come off a lot of the medicines I used to have to take; I no longer need blood pressure medicine, and I used to take five insulin shots a day, but since my procedure, I’ve only had to take insulin three times. Not three times a day, but JUST THREE TIMES! Since the surgery, I’m so much more active, able to go to the gym, work out, walk around at the park and flea market, and spend more time outdoors with my husband. Size-wise, I’ve gone from a size 26 down to a size 16! I haven’t worn a size 16 since high school, and that was 35 years ago! I was convinced I’d never be this size again, and then I found Alabama Surgical associates and Dr. Doucette. He, the entire staff, and this procedure have changed my life for the better, and I can’t thank you all enough.
