Meet Tracy Roberts, MS, RDN, CSOWM, LD
Tracy Roberts is a Registered Dietitian with over 25 years of experience in nutrition and dietetics. Tracy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from Auburn University, and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Foods from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has extensive experience in medical and private settings, including teaching at Huntsville Hospital Wellness Center and leading Weight Watchers meetings. She also previously worked at the CDC as a wellness dietitian, which involved developing weight loss programs, leading supermarket tours, and contributing to the employee newsletter. Tracy is also a Board Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management, a certification that is earned with comprehensive knowledge of obesity and weight management by professionals who empower patients to manage their weight through nutritional, physical, and psychological practices.
While Tracy has worked in varied areas of nutrition she has always felt a calling toward helping weight loss patients. Her approach to helping patients is influenced by her personal challenges with weight loss. Since she has tried countless diets herself and has previously struggled with weight, binge eating, and body image, she is able to relate well to her patients. Tracy says “there is nothing you can tell me about your relationship with food that will surprise or disappoint me. I understand, I get it, and I will help you on your new path.”
At Alabama Surgical Associates, Tracy will be your partner in maintaining weight loss for life. She offers personalized guidance that will identify where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there. Research shows that bariatric patients who regularly follow up with their bariatric support team after surgery experience more health benefits, lose more weight, and maintain their weight loss. Tracy looks forward to working with each new patient and she is committed to helping you reach your goals.
